Re: Shit you need to know
You gotta swim
Don’t let yourself sink
You’ll find the horizon
I promise you it’s not as far as you think
Just keep your head above.
Do something that means something! It will make you happy! Promise!

Accidentally pulled the most perfect book off the library shelf
This book I haphazardly glanced at the title of and tossed on my pile just happens to be about a girl whose mother is a bus driver, who has been homeless, who befriends “freaks,” students with disabilities and old people, who is in the midst of a school politics issue, who is RELENTLESSLY HOPEFUL and then pitifully without hope after the world wears her down… All in the voice of a kind of annoying but true to form teenager.
The closer I get to my 100-books-in-the-genre goal, the closer I am to realizing the book I will write. So inpirational. In the face of unpleasantness surrounding my M-F life, I can still find comfort and hope in a great story. I feel like sometimes that’s all you ever need in life is a good story. How do you make a friend? With a good story. How do you get free food when you’re hungry? With a good story. How do you smile? With a good story. How do you make someone slow down their scrolling to actually read what you have to say on a superficial site like tumblr? With a good story.
Both of my happy shirts washed and dried and on my body :) :) :)
