Something happy every single day
So I don’t know where I found this idea, but it’s my new fave. Simple as this: get a calendar, digital or physical, and write something that makes you happy. Every single day. Good because no matter how shitty my day is, I know I usually smile at least once. Even better because it has to fit in a tiny box (i.e. It forces me to be concise AND only takes thirty seconds). And at the end of this month I will have twenty eight things to read and think “this made me happy.” February looks like: 1. Waking up before my alarm, 2. Unexpected energy, 3. “Febawary fird, dats my birfday!”, 4. Watching toddler watch Youtube, 5. Ate great Super Bowl food, 6. Took an afternoon nap, 7. Mr. Harris had extra antibiotics, 8. Thought I forgot my lunch but I had it. …I mean… It’s not exactly a novel concept, but you know it’s just the little things. Little things help me make it through my days, and a whole lot of little things will last a whole year.
