SUMMER SCHOOL! (Totally awesome adventures in…)

As summer school is about to start, well, it’s not the most exciting thing in the world. Last year it sounded like the worst idea ever, but I ended up LOVING it! I was a one-on-one helper for a sweet, very interesting boy with a gigantic smile. This is a picture he drew for me while we had some down time, and I’ve never had a good reason to share it until now.

He started drawing a person, and I asked who it was.

He said, “That’s you, Miss Bridge.”

Then the person suddenly had a sad face, so I asked, “Oh no! Why am I sad?”

He proceeded to draw a box around little sad stick-me with bars across and replied, “Because you’re in a cage.”

“Why am I in a cage??”

“Because we can’t have snack time until everyone else is done with writing time, and you and me get sad when we don’t have snack time, Miss Bridge.”

“Oh, now I understand why my face is sad, but why am I in a cage?”

“So you don’t eat me.” (Completely flat, completely serious tone of voice).

AND THAT, folks, is why I never tire of my job, even when it sucks.

So, sitting in the library, I realized my hair was outrageously messy after going on a run this morning and then driving with the windows down all the way here. So I pull out my messy ponytail to make a less messy bun, AND MY ONLY HAIRTIE SNAPS. So now I’m sitting in the library with crazy wild lady hair that also has a huge pony crease in it. Awesome! …I feel like this is such a junior high problem, BUT IT STILL SUCKS AND IS WORTHY OF BLOGGING ABOUT, OKAY?

If you could write ANYTHING on a shirt, what would it say?

Went to 10 garage sales and a giant craft show this weekend. Scored a cigar box, a shirt I can paint on, two sweet leather bracelets (pictured), and a really amazing-smelling lotion. All for less than $20!! PLUS! I have like a million ideas for craft projects now.

YES! It is indeed my plan to start selling them. Will all depend on what people want! I’m not a good business person, so I really don’t even know how to make it work like a business… but if anyone wants a shirt… tell me what kind… and what color/size/etc… and I will find out a way to make it and get it to you… and hopefully find out a way where you can pay me a little bit.
